Festival Place parking
Investigating reports that residents paid for parking at Festival Place but still received parking charge notices.
Focus
Residents across the area have contacted me about parking charge notices received after visiting Festival Place, Basingstoke – including cases where they say they had already paid for their parking.
Some report that, after submitting evidence of payment when appealing, they were still asked to pay a reduced charge of £20 because of what is described as a registration or “keying error”.
I have raised these concerns with Hozah and UK Parking Administration (UKPA), copied in Festival Place and local representatives. Luke Murphy MP has also written to Hozah following concerns raised by residents and on their behalf. As of early September 2026, I am still waiting for substantive answers to the questions raised.
What’s next
- Pressing Hozah and UKPA for answers on how payments are matched to vehicles and what triggers the £20 outcome
- Working through resident reports and following up with everyone who has contacted me
- Sharing further updates as responses are received
- Supporting residents who have been affected
